We have also brought in some more of Shintaro’s jumbo Tosai. He has just finalised his Koi to go into the Mudponds and we got the pick of what couldnt be put out due to only having so much space. There are some fantastic Koi to be had in this selection, some are already sold just from seeing the last selection! Brilliant value for money too. The 2 I have shown here are local ponds and are impressive, not just because how they work but the time taken to finish. Pond 2 has taken around 6 working days from start to fibre glass. All the pipe work etc all done and fitted, the volume of the system will be around 2000 gallons, running on a Nexus 200 and a Evo55 UV unit.

Pond 1 is a 5000gallon pond run on a Nexus 300 and also includes a Evo55w UV unit. This pond is also 9 foot deep! Start to fibre glass on this pond was 8 days in total, really impressive. I will post more when they are fully complete.

The new shipment of Koi from Niigata arrived last week and have settled in really well. Tosai are much harder to look after on arrival than bigger Koi, they are always very weak so its good they are doing so well after a matter of days. Every day they look better, very happy with them. Took a quick video today of the Koi in Quarantine. They will be in QT for a few more weeks yet but we will let you know as soon as they are available.

Quality Nishikigoi’s new facility is really starting to take shape. The main pond is now all built, we are just waiting for the fibre glasser to arrive next week. The pond should be up and running within the next week. We will be using a combination of a nexus 310 and a Cetus Sieve. If anyone would like to pop down and see the new build, feel free. We still have a full range of of dry goods and some fish for sale. We are in the middle of arranging shipments for our new stocks from Japan, more information as soon as we have it but we feel we will have one of the best selections of Tosai in the UK, at fantastic prices.

We have had a really good year and 2012 see’s so much more happening. Having returned from Japan in November and selling some amazing fish we are now concentrating on getting our new facility up and running. The building has already started and we are on schedule for a finish at the end of March so please keep an eye on the website for further updates. The new facility will have a new 30 foot long sales pond and a full dry goods area along with much more. Should look amazing when finished. We will be there most of the time while we build the new ponds etc so if you would like to come down in the new year then please feel free.

We are just finalizing the freight from Japan right now and the Koi should be with us in the next 10 days. Quarantine protocol at Quality Nishikigoi is a minimum of 6 weeks and we will heat ramp our stocks twice and get blood testing done from Cefas to make sure they are in the best possible condition and free from KHV. No viewing will be allowed during this period. We have pictures of the fish for those who would like to see what stock we have.

We are now in the process of expanding too, we are developing a large green house into our new retail facility, it is far more professional than before and it will be built and ready for Spring 2012. This year we are going to add a 30foot by 6 by 5 feet deep pond which will have partitions for different size groups, there will also be a lot of sales area along with everything else Koi Keepers need. We are open every day apart from Monday even through Winter so if you want to come and see what we are getting up to and watch Paul digging…then you’re more than welcome! We will of course be updating the site when any new development happens, so keep an eye out.

The best being a 70cm Shintaro Sanke, which is just fantastic. We are so happy to have sold this Koi, check out the picture!

We will now get adding as much product as we can over the next few weeks. The food will be added shortly which is a fantastic food too, just because its cheaper than many other brands, ours is a no frills packaging but top quality food, just come to the shop and ask a customer, most now use it. We have sold over a ton in the last 4 months and not a single complaint.

We have also added ‘Koifix’ which we are extremely proud of. It is a really good wound treatment made by ourselves. Tim has been using it for the last few months and the results have been staggering, and the price is really low so please try it out, all Koi keepers should have some, the bottle has a really neat dispenser too.
